Overview

The TH17 meta in May 2026 has split between two dominant approaches: brute-force Super Witch + Root Rider spam for reliable 2-stars across pulls, and Queen Charge Hybrid for skilled players hunting 3-stars in must-win matches.

Super Witch + Root Rider

Reliably the highest pick-rate at 38% of CWL attacks tracked. Skeletons absorb DPS while Root Riders break walls and clean compartments. Forgiving to deploy under timer pressure; weak against bases with deep splash + scattered air-defense.

Queen Charge Hybrid

Lower pick-rate (27%) but the highest win rate (71%) when executed cleanly. Demands a clean funnel and disciplined Queen pathing. Best in hands of TH17 mains with 100+ war stars.

Lalo Variants

Lavaloon shifted from TH16 dominance to a niche TH17 pick. The Inferno Tower triangle on most modern war bases punishes Loon waves. Use only against bases without centralized Infernos.

Yeti Smash

Declining. TH17 Eagle + Inferno output overwhelms Yeti tank lines unless your spell economy is tight. Watch for it to come back next season once balance changes drop.

Base trend: triangle-Inferno + centralized-Eagle layouts are the standard right now. Anti-Root-Rider compartmentalization is what separates the top-10% bases from the field.
